For the Community

St. Francis welcomes the community, offering a place to meet; celebrate special occasions; host dinners, dances, and group events; attend classes; and enjoy the outdoors. We actively support many civic and charitable endeavors and organizations, and frequently host community events such as our annual Country Fair and Blessing of the Animals service. Our Creche preschool has provided a nurturing educational environment for hundreds of young students, another vital aspect of our long-held mission of outreach in the region.

A Home for the Community
Many groups make their home at St. Francis, or meet here on a regular basis. We have enjoyed a long and productive relationship with local Boy Scout Troop 55 and AA groups meet here regularly. The Difficult Run Jazz Band rehearses here; and the Leesburg Assembly, an English Country Dance group, hosts dances here in our fellowship hall. The talented Words & Music group has held performances and cabarets here, and Amadeus Concerts freqently uses our sanctuary to perform.

You will also find our clergy and parishioners out in the community, supporting fundraisers and community events. We took an active role in launching the Great Falls Farmers Market, and often participate in food and clothing drives at the Village Center.

Boy Scouts
Boy Scout Troop 55 meets Wednesday evenings at 7:30 pm in Millen Hall. Any boy who is eleven or older or who has completed the fifth grade is eligible to join. Prior membership in Cub Scouts is not required. The troop has over 75 active members and, besides weekly meetings, every month goes on a weekend camping overnight. In January, the troop goes skiing and in June spends one week at summer camp. Trips to high adventure camps occur in the summer for the older scouts. Alcoholics Anonymous
An AA mixed group meets at 7:45 pm on Mondays and Wednesdays in Harris Hall (at the end of the driveway). Two women's AA groups meet in Harris Hall on Saturday mornings at 7:45 am and 9:00 am.
