Adults, girls, and boys (third grade and up) assist the clergy during the principal services. Training is provided for this important ministry as needed. Adults are encouraged to serve as acolytes, and are especially needed at the 7:45 Sunday service and special occasions.
The members of the altar guild prepare the church for worship on Sundays, feast days, and special services. Members work in pairs, and the time commitment usually involves preparation for one Sunday every other month.
Lay Eucharistic Ministers
A committed group of lay persons, nominated by the clergy and licensed by the Bishop for this special ministry, read the lessons at Sunday services and assist with administration of Communion. Lay Eucharistic Ministers must be confirmed Episcopalians and at least 16 years of age.
Our ushers perform a ministry of hospitality and ensure that many of the mechanics of worship are run smoothly. Time commitment is usually one worship service per month.
Each Sunday members of the parish assist the ushers in welcoming all who come to worship. Children are welcome to stand with their parents and help greet worshippers.
St. Francis Choir
Our adult choir sings at the 11:00 Sunday services during the school year, at the 10:00 service during June and July, and at special services for holy days. Choir practice is currently on Thursday evenings at 7:30 and Sunday mornings at 10:00 from September to May.
The Joyful Noyz is for children in third grade through high school. This choir sings at most 9:00 services throughout the school year.
The Grace Notes
This is a choir for our youngest singers in kindergarten through second grade. The Grace Notes perform at special services.
The core of this group is formed by the clergy and lay leaders of the worship ministries. They meet quarterly to offer feedback and ideas to enrich and enliven our worship. All interested parishioners are welcome.
