Though raised as a Lutheran, I converted to the Episcopal faith upon marriage in 1972 and have had the opportunity to happily serve through ten different avenues over these years
Though raised as a Lutheran, I converted to the Episcopal faith upon marriage in 1972. During almost 20 years as a Navy wife living in six states and abroad and then as a Virginia resident for 30 years, I have had the good fortune to be a member of nine different Episcopal churches before coming to St. Francis in 2006. Since 1972, I have had the opportunity to serve as a Nursery teacher, Sunday School teacher, Vacation Bible School “cook”, choir member, Tables of Ten participant, and Habitat for Humanity, Fall Festival, and Gala volunteer. I have also had the privilege of serving on the committees to select an Assistant Rector and Music Ministry leaders and providing HR advice on several church matters. My full-time careers as a public and private school teacher and a Human Resources Director have provided fulfillment and true professional opportunities to serve people and public, for-profit, and non-profit organizations. Now that I have recently retired, I would consider it an honor to be able to give back to St. Francis as a Vestry member for all that this wonderful church family has given me and my family.
