SHROVE TUESDAY: Pancake Supper

The Shrove Tuesday pancake supper tradition is coming back to St. Francis. The Vestry will be hosting a pancake, egg and sausage supper for our last repast before Ash Wednesday….

But one might ask – why are pancakes a staple of Shrove Tuesday? Because when Pope Gregory told St. Augustine in England to enforce the laws of “no meat or animal products during Lent,” the British Christians started the tradition of making pancakes to use up all their supplies of eggs, butter and milk.

Please mark your calendars and plan to join us at 6:00 pm on Tuesday, February 21st for our Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper in Millen Hall

ALL ARE WELCOME!!
