A testimonial by parishioner, Joshua Kim
Simply put, it is because I see God’s love at work at St. Francis and would like to see it continue to flourish. Ever since my family and I first stepped into St. Francis ten years ago, I have witnessed the love of Christ flowing throughout the many ministries of St. Francis.
The people of St. Francis eagerly welcomed my family with open arms and helped us to settle in. Through programs such as Tables for Ten, we had the opportunity to get to know other parishioners while sharing wonderfully prepared food and drink in the comfort of each other’s homes.
Elliot, our youngest, quickly found his new spiritual home and continually gave us two thumbs up for his experiences. He was always excited to meet with the youth leaders, like Father Ben and Reverend Tracey, who guided him spiritually through exciting and engaging activities that young people would enjoy. He also learned to serve as an Acolyte during worship services and appreciated more of the Episcopal liturgy; he even shared his own homily at a Sunday service.
Jamie, our oldest, soon shared her musical talents as a member of the church choir and as a pianist.
Elizabeth was more interested in the children’s ministry and volunteered to be a Sunday school teacher. Over the years she’s taught Sunday school, she has expressed how she feels God’s love through the children and their interactions with her. As for me, I have had the opportunity to serve as a member of the Vestry.
Through my experience, I learned a great deal regarding the church’s operations and what was financially needed to make all the wonderful ministries of St. Francis possible.
“It is a greater blessing to give than receive.” I have found this to be so true. Our family is a true testimony of this teaching: As we continue to give to St. Francis, we receive so much more.

Through all the ways my family has been involved in St. Francis, more important than the hours volunteered or good times had, we have grown deeper in our connection with Christ. And for this, we are so grateful.
It is remarkable to witness how God works using the endless talents of St. Francis parishioners who dedicate their time and effort to serve God. As my family is serving and being served by the church, we feel truly blessed to be part of God’s ministry through St. Francis. The Bible teaches, “It is a greater blessing to give than receive.” I have found this to be so true. Our family is a true testimony of this teaching: As we continue to give to St. Francis, we receive so much more.
