Volunteering at St. Francis
St. Francis Episcopal’s Outreach Committee coordinates volunteer projects each year, such as meal service for the Salvation Army Grate Patrol, food and school supplies drives, an annual Christmas toy drive for Samaritan Ministry and Housing Up families, diaper collection for a local shelter, Sunday dinners at Second Story’s teen shelter, and tutoring.
Housing Up
At St. Francis Episcopal Church, we are proud to support Housing Up’s mission through various initiatives. One such initiative is our annual children’s Christmas gift drive and Christmas party, which benefits both Samaritan Ministry and Housing Up families. This event brings joy and festive cheer to children and families who may be facing challenges during the holiday season, ensuring that they experience the warmth and generosity of the community.
Habitat for Humanity NOVA
At St. Francis Episcopal Church, we proudly support Habitat NOVA’s mission through our involvement in the Fairfax Interfaith Coalition for Habitat. This partnership grants us access to approximately 12 volunteer build days each year, where our members can work alongside Habitat NOVA volunteers and families to construct homes. Additionally, we participate in volunteering at the Restore store, which sells used building and household materials to support Habitat’s initiatives.
