Families and singles will be warmly welcomed at the St. Francis Chili Cook-Off event on Sunday, October 27, at 5 p.m. in the church parish hall. The Chili Cook-Off is open to the community, and we’d love to see some newcomers, young and old. This event will have a Halloween theme, so children—and willing adults—are encouraged to wear their Halloween costumes!
Do you like to cook chili? Then cook up your special recipe and be part of the competition! All kinds of chili are welcome. Just bring your chili in a crockpot at 5 p.m. with an extension cord, and everything else will be provided.
Do you like to eat chili? Then bring the family, come taste the different chilis, and vote for your favorite! Chili accompaniments will be provided, such as cornbread and tortilla chips. There will also be beer and soft drinks, as well as hot dogs for the kids.
Do you like to cook and eat chili? Then by all means, do BOTH!
This event is an annual fundraiser, and this year’s donations will be sent to the Rev. Tracey Kelly’s church, Church of the Holy Family, in North Carolina, where families are still recovering from Hurricane Helene. Donations will be welcome and can be made at the door. Questions?
